Emergency department

Williamstown Hospital emergency department is open daily from 8am to 10:30pm. 

For emergencies outside these hours, please go directly to Sunshine Hospital [LINK] or Footscray Hospital [LINK]. 

Patients are assessed on arrival, and treatment is prioritised based on medical urgency. Those with severe injuries or illnesses will receive care first.

Virtual emergency department

For non-life-threatening conditions like infections, nausea, minor cuts, rashes, burns, or fractures, consider the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (Virtual ED)—a free, 24/7 video-based healthcare service. 

Connect with emergency nurses and doctors via your smartphone, computer, or tablet. They can provide medical advice, prescribe medications, and arrange tests close to home.

Visiting hours

You can visit patients daily from 12pm to 8pm. 

Visitors help with patient recovery and comfort, but visiting hours are designed to allow for rest and important patient care.

Free car parking is available opposite the main entrance of the hospital in Railway Crescent, with limited spaces also available on Stewart Street.

Bus stops for Route 471 are on Osborne Street (behind the hospital) and nearby on Victoria Street. 

Train 

Williamstown Beach is located across the road from the Williamstown Hospital.
