Sustainability
At Western Health we understand that caring for our community also means caring for the environment. We recognise that the current climate crisis affects people’s health, and we’re taking action to protect both the planet and the wellbeing of the communities we serve in Melbourne’s West.
Our Sustainability Plan 2020–2025 sets out our goals and actions over a 5-year period. The plan makes sustainability a key part of how we operate, with four main objectives:
- Make sustainability a core part of everything we do.
- Create a clear path to achieving net zero emissions.
- Incorporate climate change action as part of our corporate responsibility.
- Commit to ongoing learning, innovation and improvement.
Our approach is based on data analysis, research and innovation. We aim to maintain our leadership in the healthcare sector through the responsible use of natural resources.
We collaborate closely with leaders, clinicians, staff, healthcare partners, suppliers and government. By working together, we aim to put the best sustainability practices in place across all parts of our organisation.
