Our team
Our multidisciplinary team of highly skilled Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Radiation Therapists, Palliative Care Physicians, Medical Oncologists, Oncology Nurses, Allied Health and Administrative Staff, deliver the highest standard of individualised patient-centred care.
Each of our attending Radiation Oncologists specialises in specific tumour types and is a member of the appropriate specialist multidisciplinary team, involved with education and research across Peter Mac and Western Health sites.

Allied Health, Nursing and Supportive Care
The Nursing and Allied Health team at SHRTC offer support for patients and their families including:
- Nursing (including smoking cessation support)
- Clinical Psychology
- Physiotherapy
- Nutrition and Dietetics
- Social Work
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Palliative Care assessment (in conjunction with Mercy Palliative Care)

Symptom Management Assessment and Referral Team (SMART Clinic)
- Palliative Care Physicians working in conjunction with the Mercy Palliative Care Liaison nurse at Mercy Palliative Care.
Familial Cancer Clinic
The Familial Cancer Clinic is a satellite clinic affiliated with the Peter Mac Familial Cancer Centre. The clinic runs two-monthly with the genetic counsellors from Peter Mac. The clinic accepts referrals from the community as well as from the health network. The attending physicians are Dr Shirley Wong and A/Prof Lara Lipton, with their interests in genetic breast, ovarian and colorectal cancers.

There is no charge for patients. Services provided at SHRTC are bulk billed.

Car parking is available on the hospital grounds. Parking costs are covered by SHRTC for treatment appointments only.
Volunteer and ambulance transport can be arranged for eligible patients when other transport is not practical.

Information for Referrers
All cancer patients are welcome to attend SHRTC upon referral from their general practitioner or specialist. All new patient referrals are reviewed and triaged within 48 hours by a tumour stream specialist, who will determine the most appropriate clinical team to assess the patient's needs.
Please ensure the following relevant investigations are included in the referral: pathology reports, operative notes, diagnostic imaging and reports.
Referrals may be addressed to the SHRTC site director (below), or to the appropriate tumour stream specialist. Please include your name and provider number.
