Supporter spotlight - Concrete Constructions

14 Apr 2021

2020 was a challenging year for most businesses. But for one Ringwood business, it made them more determined to help others less fortunate.

Operations Manager of Concrete Construction Systems, Zenon Eleftheriou, has a close connection to the west and Western Health having grown up in Deer Park with his brother, Dr Paul Eleftheriou, who has been the Chief Medical Officer at Western Health since 2018.

The two have always had a close bond so when Paul was thrust into the frontline of Western Health's COVID response, Zenon was naturally concerned.

"Watching the pandemic unfold, it was a really stressful time. I was scared for my brother working in the hospital and wanted to give back where we could," said Zenon.

Now based in Ringwood, Concrete Construction Systems realised they were in a more fortunate situation than most people and wanted to give back to help others.

"We had to change some of our practices to keep working but we were lucky we were able to keep operating," says Zenon.

As a result, the company decided to partner with the Western Health Foundation and become a corporate supporter.

"Not everyone is as lucky as what we are. We want to set a good example for our 60 employees and show that we care about the community. It's important to us to give back and do what we can to help others," says Zenon.

"Knowing that our support is helping to improve health outcomes in Melbourne's west and the work that my brother and all the staff at Western Health are undertaking, particularly during this challenging time of COVID is really satisfying."
