Giving Makes Good Cents

10 Feb 2021

Giving back to their community is important to the Tran family. Each year the family of five collect their loose coins in a money box to donate to a worthy cause. Simply by collecting their gold coins as they received them, and a few notes for good measure, they were able to raise $450 last year.

The St Albans family decided to give their donation to their local hospital. The family has a strong connection with Sunshine hospital starting with the birth of all three children. The children Thu 14, Louie 11 and Justin 10 also saved their pocket money and contributed to the donation.

"Collecting loose change throughout the year, like the Tran family, is a simple and effective way to make a meaningful donation," says Julia White, Director of Western Health Foundation. "It's amazing how much it can add up to at the end of the year without even realising.

"We are so grateful to the Tran family for choosing to donate to their local hospital. Donations like this help us to continue to provide best care for our patients."
