Wellcare program

Wellcare Program at Sunshine Hospital provides care, support and respite for palliative care patients and their carers. It offers activities for end-of-life patients and patients with limited lives, including craft, cooking, music, outings and massage.

What we do

Our  Wellcare Program is a joint initiative between Western Health and Mercy Health for people with a life limiting illness. It helps to improve well-being, independence and enjoyment while giving carers a 'day off'.

The program creates a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment. We offer nursing assessment and clinical care and activities such as music therapy, gentle exercise, and outings.

The team includes nurses, music therapists, counsellors and volunteers. Medical support is also available.

Our 'Wellcare Wishes' program helps people nearing the end of their lives to create special memories, such as concerts, meeting idols, and special trips.
