Delivering improved mental health services

From 1 July 2023, Western Health became a newly designated Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. This means we are now responsible for providing mental health care to many people who were previously supported by NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH), a part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

This change occurred following the Royal Commission into Victoria's mental health system and affects people who live in western metropolitan Melbourne.
