The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories at Western Health provide diagnostic and interventional services to the Western suburbs of Melbourne from 3 state of the art laboratories across two campuses  . A single lab is located at the  Footscray campus and two labs are located at the Sunshine campus which additionally  includes a dedicated  Day Procedure Area.  The Catheterisation  Laboratories  provide a 24-hour on-call service for those patients who may require emergency cardiology procedures.

The service is supported by specialist nursing and ancillary staff including radiographers, cardiac technologists, a Cardiac liaison nurse, Cardiologists, technicians,  an Interventional Fellowship Position and The Royal Australasian College of Physicians Accredited Cardiology Advanced Trainee program.

  • Permanent Pacemaker insertion
  • Automated implantable cardiac defibrillators (AICD)
  • Loop Implant recorder implantation
  • Right Heart Studies
  • Electrophysiology studies and Intervention
