When to contact security

Please contact the Security Services team if you:

  • feel unsafe or threatened
  • witness aggressive or violent behaviour
  • see something suspicious or concerning.

Security Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at all Western Health hospitals.

How to contact security

  1. Call (03) 8345 6666 and ask to speak to security. Be sure to tell the receptionist which hospital you’re at.
  2. Alternatively, you can ask any staff member at our hospitals for help or enquire at the main reception desk.

Looking after your belongings

We recommend that you do not bring valuable items to the hospital. If you must bring valuables, you should ask a family member or friend to take them home for you.

You can ask a nurse to arrange for small items to be stored in the hospital safe, such as:

  • wallets and purses
  • jewellery.

Please note: Due to limited space, we cannot store larger items, such as:

  • bags
  • laptops or tablet devices.
In the case of a life threatening emergency, call 30020.
