Reframe Your Response is an award-winning virtual reality (VR) training program developed by Western Health. It supports healthcare workers to handle challenging situations involving occupational violence and aggression (OVA).

What the training involves

Using immersive VR technology, this program:

  • simulates real hospital scenarios where aggression may occur
  • combines theory with hands-on, practical demonstrations
  • shows situations from the patient’s perspective
  • helps staff learn how reframing their response can defuse conflict and improve safety.

Why it works

By engaging in both the mind and the body, VR training helps build:

  • confidence in responding to aggressive behaviour
  • empathy towards patients and colleagues
  • safer outcomes for everyone involved.
