Our Western Health Breast Service supports you if you are newly diagnosed with breast cancer each year, have advanced breast cancer, or a benign condition.

What we do

Our Western Health Breast Service treats over 120 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer each year, as well as supporting you if you are diagnosed with a benign condition. The service responds to your needs if you are a young woman with breast cancer, have advanced breast cancer and are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Services and facilities

Through our service you have access to:

  • a multidisciplinary clinic and regular multidisciplinary case conferencing.
  • best practice surgical and reconstructive techniques.
  • a range of information resources in English and community languages.
  • high quality breast care nurse service and access to psychosocial programs.

Our specialist Breast Care Nurse Consultants (BCN) are involved in your care, providing you and your families with information and support from diagnosis, through treatment and follow-up. The consultants spend time with you to outline and reiterate diagnosis information, planned treatments after discussion with consultant. They will also provide written information and links to support networks.

Day Oncology Unit

Our Day Oncology Unit provides management and treatment for people with cancer, and related medical conditions. It aims to provide personalised care for all people with cancer, supporting you, your family and your friends.
