Grant to lead the way
Western Health Foundation has received a $50k boost through Perpetual's IMPACT Philanthropy Application Program.
At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Western Health provided care for almost half of Australia's total COVID positive cases. On top of treating COVID patients in clinical areas such as; Emergency, ICU and respiratory clinics, the health network also played an important role in providing outreach leadership and support to the many residential aged care facilities crippled by the effects of COVID-19.
With the high volume of patient information collected during this time, Western Health has a unique opportunity to play an important role in making recommendations and shaping the response to future pandemics. The grant from the Perpetual Impact Funding supports collating and reviewing the data which will give valuable insight and could be used to make recommendations at a national level.

The findings from this project will help identify patients at highest risk, transmission patterns and evaluate the response and effectiveness of the healthcare system."
